Matisse Bows on Takeover Radio

LEICESTER, ENGLAND, January 1, 2003 – MMG’s clever and highly entertaining new animated series "Matisse: The Secret Life and Adventures of a Dog" premiered Monday, Jan. 1 at 6:30 (GMT) on 103.2 FM, children's programming station Takeover Radio.

Matisse answers the question "What if a band of neighborhood animals secretly helped humankind?"

Characters include Matisse the canine equivalent to Frasier Crane, a party-hardy Labrador Retriever named Red, Matisse’s adopted pup Madison, Benny an obese tabby cat and the cynical pigeon Buford, to name just a few.

The animals live a seemingly normal life while secretly helping their owners and all humankind.

Matisse is voiced by Mark Lyndon, well known voice-over star in Germany. Jay Lerner provides the voice of Vinnie and Takuya while fellow cast member Billy Acquaviva Jr. does Red as well as Melman, the hapless mailman. The role of Madison is voiced by Karen McCarthy of Tofu Boy fame. Kevin Delaney does a star turn as mafia bad boy Guido.

Described as "a comedy disguised as a kids show," "Matisse" promises to tell stories that deal with issues while poking fun at human and animal kind.

The series is created and executive produced by Jan Simons of Madison Media Group LLC, an independent entertainment production company.

Dog Saves World
New Website Mixes Cartoon Pets, Adventure and Intrigue

LOS ANGELES, June 1, 2000 – Ever wonder what pets do while the master’s away? They save the world, of course!

At least that’s the premise behind Cleverdog.com, a new website that chronicles the secret adventures of Matisse, a Shetland Sheepdog and his cartoon animal pals. Matisse finds himself comically foiling evil villains right under human noses. Yet somehow he always manages to keep his avocation secret, returning home in time for supper.

Throughout it all, our hero is ably accompanied by his big Labrador Retriever sidekick Red and Madison, a niece with a puppy’s curious nose for trouble. Surrounding this endearing trio is a host of the nutty sort of characters that we all have as neighbors - except, of course, the villains with whom Matisse must contend.

In addition to entertaining story lines and characters, Cleverdog.com boasts some other amusements. Visit Matisse’s suave Doghouse estate, play games at the Funzone, or post your own pet’s picture and stats on the Friends page.

But don’t think Matisse and Cleverdog.com are mere child’s play. The dangers and hijinx he and his pals get into are loaded with the sort of wry, satirical observations that will build a loyal adult following. Which is exactly what Cleverdog.com creators hopes to accomplish.

Perhaps the right Hollywood moguls will visit the site and make Matisse a star. Until then, the world can at least follow his adventures online.
